DCAC certifies Innov’ATM as first U-space service provider in France

On March 27 2025, France’s Direction Generale de l’Aviation Civile (DGAC)/Civil Aviation Safety Directorate reported in a Linkedin post that it had issued its first U-space service provider (USSP) certificate to French company Innov’ATM.

An Innov’ATM statement, also on Linkedin, said:

“After 18 months of rigorous evaluation in collaboration with EASA – European Union Aviation Safety Agency, this certification confirms our ability to deliver automated digital services for the safe management of drone traffic….A significant step towards a structured and interconnected U-space airspace in Europe!”

According to the DGAC, Innov’ATM demonstrated its ability to assist drone operators with automated digital air traffic management services in accordance with regulations such as those relating to safety, the environment and cybersecurity and for complex situations involving multiple drone flights and/or flights out of sight of operators.

Other companies in France and the EU are also preparing to receive this mandatory certificate to operate safely with all future USSPs in U-space airspaces, reports the DGAC.
