An Italian U-space service provider (USSP) has been integrated into the Spanish U-space ecosystem as part of the U-ELCOME Project.
The Spanish and Italian clusters conducted several drone integration tests at the Ocaña aerodrome in Spain on March 26. These tests demonstrated how a large number of uncrewed aircraft can coexist safely and efficiently within the same airspace.
Four different USSPs participated in these trials: ENAIRE, ITG Technology Center, ASLOGIC UAB, and Dflight ENAV. The demonstration also received technical support and collaboration from companies such as Bluenest by Globalvia, INECO, Indra, BATTSuisse GmbH, RigiTech, CRISALION, Air Mobility Solutions, and Nommon.
The U-ELCOME Project said the tests represent “a significant step toward smarter and more sustainable air mobility, driving the development of new drone services in urban and industrial environments”.
