SF Express orders 100 UAS for Chinese logistics operations

Chinese logistics provider, SF Express, has ordered 100 ES1000 uncrewed cargo aircraft from Yifei Aviation Technology, representing a commitment to uncrewed logistics and a shift in how SF Express plans to serve its customers in the coming years, especially those in remote areas.

SF Express and Yifei Aviation will collaborate on pilot operations using these large-scale aircraft, which are specifically engineered for ultra-short take-off and landing capabilities. The new aerial logistics network created with the acquisition of the ES1000 will be able to operate from minimally developed landing sites. SF Express says the aircraft could potentially be used for overnight operations and enable scheduled precision deliveries for time-sensitive goods or specialised handling for unique cargo requirements.

SF Express established a subsidiary called Phoenix Wings (also known as Fonair) to manage its growing drone operations.
