EASA and IATA to host positioning, navigation and timing resilience workshop

The European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the International Air Transport Organisation (IATA) is inviting the aviation community to the 2025 EASA-IATA Positioning, Navigation and Timing (PNT) Resilience Workshop in Cologne on the 22nd and 23rd of May.

The aim of this year’s event is to build on the conclusions of the previous workshop and to provide further insights on the growing challenges of Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) interference and its impact on aviation operations.

This workshop aims to bring together experts from across industry to explore how to strengthen resilience and ensure operational continuity in the face of evolving threats.

The agenda will include the effectiveness of current mitigation techniques, sharing of operational experience, the role of ATM and ANSPs, regulatory challenges, future technologies and enhanced civil-military cooperation. A draft agenda will be published within the coming weeks

To ensure a productive and open exchange of information, EASA and IATA are implementing the Chatham House Rule for the event to help create a trusted environment and improve information sharing. Attendees will be able to share the information they receive, but neither the identity nor the affiliation of the person who provided the information.

Registration will take place on a first come, first served basis.
