Latvia selects three companies for C-UAS development project

The Latvian Ministry of Defence has awarded three research and development (R&D) agreements for the development of drone defence technologies. The successful companies are Origin Robotics, SAF Tehnika JSC and Frankenburg Technologies.

Under the terms of the agreements, the companies will develop automated drone-interceptors with technology based on electronic warfare as well as guided missiles. The ministry expects to add “at least one more project”, to adapt the weapons systems already at the disposal of the National Armed Forces for the automated role of countering drones.
