EUROCAE UAS working group meets to advance standards

The EUROCAE working group on uncrewed aerial systems (WG-105) met this week at EUROCAE headquarters to advance the development of standards and guidance documents that enable the safe operation of UAS across all types of airspace, at all times, and for all kinds of operations.

The work of WG-105 is organised into six Focus Teams, each dedicated to a specific area. The current Focus Areas are Detect and Avoid (DAA), Command, Control Communication (C3), UAS Traffic Management (UTM), design and airworthiness standards, enhanced remotely piloted aircraft systems automation, and Specific Operations Risk Assessment (SORA).

On November 25, EUROCAE published its Minimum Aviation System Performance Standards (MASPS) for Detect And Avoid Traffic for Remotely Piloted Aircraft Systems in Airspace Classes A-G Under IFR.
