Joint C-UAS production contract with Thales boosts Ukraine’s air defence

Ukraine’s Ministry of Strategic Industries has announced that Thales Belgium and a Ukrainian defence company have signed a Memorandum of Understanding on co-production. The MoU aims to establish the joint production of air defence assets.

“The signed MoU sets up a framework for the joint production of C-UAS missiles,” said Herman Smetanin, Minister of Strategic Industries. “In the future, both sides expect to deepen cooperation and conduct the transfer of technologies and equipment for the production of C-UAS components. I am grateful to Thales for cooperating with the Ukrainian defence industry and for its assistance in our struggle against Russian armed aggression.”

Smetanin said the joint production will allow the ministry to strengthen the protection of Ukraine’s critical infrastructure in the shortest possible time.
