BAE Systems has acquired Kirintec, which specialises in counter-uncrewed aerial systems (C-UAS), counter-improvised explosive devices and electronic warfare systems.
Kirintec’s open architecture technology is designed to protect military platforms and personnel from cyber and electromagnetic attacks. BAE Systems says the acquisition will enable it to address increasing demand for these capabilities.
Kirintec will form part of BAE Systems’ Digital Intelligence business, providing new products to broaden the company’s portfolio across electronic warfare and force protection. Kirintec’s approximately 50 strong workforce will continue to operate from its site in Herefordshire, UK, supporting its existing customers. BAE Systems will help the business to increase investment in product development and bring the systems to a wider range of customers across the UK and allied nations.
