As part of the preparation for a major demonstration of counter-uncrewed aerial systems (C-UAS) and air defence capabilities, scheduled for later this month at a Middle Eastern experimentation centre, MARSS and partners demonstrated the NiDAR Command and Control (C2) C-UAS system at a shakedown event sponsored by DEVCOM, held at Fort Drum, New York in August.
The AI-powered NiDAR C2 C-UAS system, featuring rapid integration and sensor / effector agnostic capabilities, was demonstrated to an audience including senior US armed forces leaders, allied and domestic personnel and Department of Defense representatives. MARSS has designed the system to reduce the decision cycle between detection, verification and defeat from minutes to seconds. It includes an EO-IR solution from Current Corp that has been specifically developed to provide improved performance and reliability in the Middle East as well as C-UAS radar solutions from both SRC and Echodyne.
The defeat end of the solution was demonstrated by effectors from EOS and Northrop Grumman, connected by a secure Silvus Technologies radio network and integrated into the MARSS NiDAR platform.
Over the course of the shakedown exercise, the system repeatedly defeated Class 1 and 2 drones at ranges approaching one kilometre. Consequently, MARSS has been selected to demonstrate the system to key partners during the Middle East phase of the exercise, which will see MARSS tackle Class 3 fixed-wing drones at longer ranges.
