AUVSI urges senate to pass multi-year FAA Reauthorisation legislation

The Association for Uncrewed Vehicles International (AUVSI) joined several aviation associations in urging US Senate leadership and the Commerce Committee to hold a hearing on, and pass, multi-year FAA Reauthorization legislation.

In December 2023, Congress temporarily extended FAA authorization for a second time until March 8, 2024. As stated in the group letter, “Additional extensions create further delays in the system. We need a long-term authorization to provide the stability, investment, and planning for aviation to meet its mission of safe and efficient transportation.”

The US House of Representatives’ FAA reauthorization bill is H.R. 3935, the Securing Growth and Robust Leadership in America Aviation Act H.R. 3935 passed out of the Committee on Transportation and Infrastructure on June 14, 2023 by a unanimous vote of 63-0.
