India Accelerator invests in C-UAS, drone and space startups

India Accelerator (IA) has launched a dedicated accelerator focusing on uncrewed and robotic technologies. Through the “RUMS” (robotics, unmanned and space) accelerator, IA will provide strategic support to startups specialising in uncrewed aerial systems (UAS), counter-UAS (C-UAS) technologies, ground robots and space systems.

RUMS will inject USD10-15M capital in early-stage startups developing innovations in these industries.

A mentor board led by former Indian Army veteran Lt Gen Anil Chait, will oversee the accelerator, which aims to help the Indian government’s vision to become a global hub for drones by 2030.

As part of the launch, IA has invested nearly USD1M in a Bengaluru-based startup through Finvolve. This startup develops advanced air defence aerial systems for rapid deployment and precision strikes in contested environments.
