AeroDefense has been awarded SAFETY Act designation by the United States Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Office of SAFETY Act Implementation.
The DHS Support Anti-terrorism by Fostering Effective Technologies (SAFETY) Act of 2002 is part of the United States’ response to the threat of terrorism, particularly following the events of September 11, 2001. The SAFETY Act was designed to encourage the development and deployment of effective anti-terrorism technologies and offers liability protections for providers and users of these technologies.
Originally recognised as an approved technology under the Developmental Testing and Evaluation category in 2019, AeroDefense has since demonstrated the effectiveness and reliability of its AirWarden system, an airspace security system designed to detect, identify, and track drone and pilot activity. AeroDefense provides passive Radio Frequency based drone detection service layers to alert when drones and/or their controllers enter a protected airspace. AirWarden supports the Federal Aviation Administration Remote ID rule.
