This year’s Amsterdam Drone Week (16-18 April 2024) will break new ground in understanding how future air and ground advanced mobility services will transform cities, communities and regions.
“This year we are co-locating the event with Intertraffic Amsterdam, the largest mobility event in the world,” said Nynke Lipsius-Mulder, Manager Domain Mobility, RAI Amsterdam. “Which means for the first time we will be truly connecting the air to the ground.
Intertraffic and ADW will provide the biggest mobility platform in the world, where representatives from the business community, government and non-profit sectors will meet to discuss how technological advances can be speedily, efficiently and sustainable deployed to transform the way citizens move within and between cities.
It will be a global event, with the most senior representatives from the advanced air mobility (AAM) and drone industries attending.
“Our Global Air Mobility Conference is being organised with partners including the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), the US Federal Aviation Administration and the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management,” said Nynke Lipsius-Mulder. “Other senior government transport decision makers will be attending from Africa, Asia and other evolving AAM regions of the world.”

“We will focus on drones-for-good, with the World Food Programme and the United Nations outlining why they need progress on developing global rules and regulations to allow for more expansive drone operations. They can’t wait.”
The conference will open with keynote speeches from, among others, Jeffrey Vincent of the FAA, Michele Merkleof the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) and Luc Tytgat of EASA. The showcase arena will feature a range of the latest uncrewed aircraft – from small drones to autonomous air taxis.
A key focus of the event will be to examine in detail how current rules and regulations can be adapted and developed to exploit the potential of new transport technologies.
If we want to make use of this innovation we have to change things,” said Nynke Lipsius-Mulder. “Our air mobility planning session, for example, will look at more than just how cities will integrate AAM vehicles into their operations but how to develop an entirely different way of planning city and regional transport networks.”
Amsterdam Drone Week: A unique opportunity to connect to the future Amsterdam Drone Week is the leading global platform for sharing knowledge about current air-mobility solutions, innovations, and regulations. The aim is to facilitate value-added meetings between all the important players, knowledge institutions, and government bodies to enrich society via urban air mobility. Via summits, expert sessions, and matchmaking, ADW connects the entire UAM-community when it comes to drone regulations, new technology, and future-oriented solutions. The United Nations, the World Food Programme, and the Government of Ghana will be showing how drones are being used to deliver medicines and food to areas that are otherwise difficult to reach. In addition, there are representatives attending from the United States, France, Germany, China, Japan, and the Middle East as well as cities such as Amsterdam, Brussels, and Hamburg who will explain what role drones and driverless vehicles can play in the urban landscape of the future. Members of the European Parliament and the European Commission will also be present at both events to talk about the role that mobility can play in making cities and other regions not only safer but also more liveable. This three-day event brings together key players from commercial and non-commercial sectors, as well as knowledge institutes and authorities, to share knowledge and discuss current air solutions, potential innovations, and vital regulations Content streams include: For more information |
