Northrop Grumman Corporation and Diehl Defence GmbH & Co. KG have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) that formalises their commitment to work together to support layered air and missile defense capabilities for Germany.
The MOU enables collaboration by allowing the companies to use their expertise to explore advanced technologies that would support the seamless integration of Germany’s air and missile defense systems.
Northrop Grumman’s experience in Integrated Air and Missile Defence (IAMD) and control capabilities, such as the U.S. Army’s Integrated Battle Command System (IBCS), will complement Diehl’s ground based air and missile defense systems, such as IRIS-T SLM, by enabling integration and interoperability with allied systems.
The memorandum also addresses the need for NATO and European allies to modernise IAMD capabilities.
Rebecca Torzone, vice president and general manager of global battle management and readiness at Northrop Grumman and Torsten Cook, senior vice president of ground based air defense business unit at Diehl Defence, signed the MOU in Berlin.
